CIPD Level 7 L&D Course Details

Throughout this course, you will gain essential people management skills and learn how to apply them as they pertain to learning and development in the workplace.

If you are a seasoned L&D professional who is currently responsible for leadership strategies and policy creation, then the CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in L&D will broaden your strategic knowledge and skillset across a wide range of key topics. It will also keep you in line with industry best practices, including how to examine the external environment and how to prepare business reports that persuade and influence key stakeholders.

In addition, you will also be eligible to apply for Chartered Membership and use 'Chartered MCIP' after your name.

To pursue this qualification, you must have a fair amount of practical experience.

This course is perfect for those looking to attain the highest level of Learning and Development CIPD qualification and in turn, CIPD Chartered or Fellow Membership.

If English is your second language, we recommend that you have achieved one of the following (or an equivalent):

1. IELTS: 5.5 overall score with a minimum of 5.5 in each category
2. TOEFL: 71 overall score with a minimum of 17 in each category
3. Cambridge: Grade C or above

However, this is not mandatory and we are happy to review your case on an individual basis.

You will complete written assignments for each individual module studied, as we have found this is the best way to correctly demonstrate the skills and knowledge gained throughout your studies.

All assignments will be submitted online and they will be marked by our assessors, as well as moderated by CIPD to ensure the highest level of standard is maintained.

You will study the 4 core and 3 specialist modules, along with 1 optional module of your choice during this course. 

This core diploma module will extend your skills and understanding on the interaction between commercial business environments and future developments in the world of work, employment and people management.

With an opportunity to explore a wide scope of progressive people practices, including employee wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, ethics, sustainability and quality. 

This core module focusses on the importance of using evidence-based, outcomes-driven and principles-led practice in support of the fundamental purpose of the people profession.

With a focus on both value and the delivery of outcomes, this module has been crafted to further develop the extensive knowledge and skills vital to ensuring business goals are successfully met and employee experience is a central focus.

You will also study the benefits of delivering policy and practice coherently and in line with organisational goals.

This core module highlights the significance of creating a supportive and nurturing environment, as well as the direct impact it will have on employees and there ability to promote ethical behaviours and champion better working lives throughout businesses.

With an opportunity to learn about the fundamental theories and concepts that are vital for promoting inclusiveness, you will learn how to influence those around you through fair and transparent behaviours.

Using core skills such as teamwork, communication and critical thinking, this module will provide you with an in-depth understanding of how positive actions and inclusive behaviour directly impacts the ethics behind any organisation.

This core module will provide you with the skills needed to define, design and undertake a business research project, as well as developing supportive report based evidence which will guide recommendations and encourage positive business reflection.

With key stakeholders at the heart of business decisions, it is vital they are both informed and kept up to date with the relevant changes and adoptions needed to practise solid business acumen and follow key policies and practices.

Effective organisational design and development is crucial for businesses to thrive. Influencing organisational structure is a key part of effective people development. This core unit will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to re-shape your organisation to meet future business challenges.

You will develop an understanding of various options used for organisational design and how these options in turn align with strategic objectives.

This specialist module will provide you with the tools and knowledge required to build a strategy based on the development of both leaders and managers in any organisation. 

You will critically analyse a full range of development interventions to ensure effective leadership and management growth, as well as reflecting on your own practise in relation to ethics and professionalism.

This module is designed to explore the skills needed to become a constructive people manager with a focus on development strategies in an international context.

This specialist module focuses on the significance of learning design and delivery, taking into consideration different organisational situations and environments.

It explores the theories and models of learning design, both traditional and contemporary, the range of delivery modes and the impact of various learning experiences in any organisation.

With an additional focus on analysing data, you'll learn how to use data from learning interventions to lead meaningful and purposeful business decisions, that in turn will contribute to the success of any organisation.  

This optional module is vital to understanding the importance of employment law, in specific employer deference and claimant remedies.

Examine the common issues that often arise in employment law with view on how to correctly prepare a defence, or in addition settle said claims before a hearing.

This module incorporates an integral part of the legal system, including the main sources of law and the evolution of contemporary employment regulation in the UK.

This optional module explores how and why organisations trade and operate internationally, specifically from a people management prospective.

International business can and does bring an abundance of challenges and complexities covering both scope and business activities. This module gives consideration to both the practical and ethical issues that often arise during globalisation.

This optional module focusses on workplace diversity and inclusion, in relation to communication, training and addressing workplace behaviours. 

With the addition of analysing trends, this module is designed to focus on the historical and present-day role of trade unions and line managers alike, especially when it amounts to promoting a fair workplace culture and environment.

The CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning & Development is designed for those with some working experience experience and are seeking mid-level L&D roles. This qualification is additionally suitable for those who have experience of training out-with learning and development (for example, as a manger), or additionally if you are new to learning and development but hold a degree and would like to begin your studies at a higher level.

The CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic Learning & Development is designed for those with considerable L&D experience and looking to embark on postgraduate-level study. This qualification will prepare you for strategic senior L&D roles and allow you to apply for CIPD Chartered Membership once you have the necessary professional experience.

If you'd like to specialise in HR rather than L&D, qualifications available include the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management or the CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management.

Yes, you are required to be a CIPD member for the duration of your CIPD studies.

Unless you are an active CIPD member, we cannot submit your assignments for moderation, provide you with assignment grades, or award you with your qualification. Therefore, you must be registered before you submit your first assignment. 

We will provide you with full details on how to join with a Student Membership, following your enrolment. You will then need to pay an annual Student Membership fee, for which our CIPD Advisors will give you the most up-to-date costs.

You will have the option to spread the cost with our flexible monthly payment plans or additionally pay for the qualification in full during the enrolment process. 

We understand that enrolling on a professional qualification is a commitment and therefore will do our best to find a payment situation that works for you.  

If your employer is making the payments on your behalf, we can directly invoice your organisation.
