Our Managing Director attended the 2019 Parliamentary Review gala to celebrate how far we've come in a decade.
This week our Managing Director Rachel Cook attended the Parliamentary Review gala to celebrate Acacia Learning’s journey over the past decade.
During the evening she also couldn’t resist the opportunity for a selfie with former MP Ed Balls.
Julie Cook (Rachel’s mum) who set up Acacia in 2007 talks about her ethos behind the brand, our unique flexibility, and our latest Live Online study options. Read the full Acacia best practice review here.
As well as changes to the profession, there have also been shifts in how individuals study. Many other providers have moved all of their training online. We have taken a different approach.
I wanted our students to have peers on the same journey they were so they can share experiences and problems, learn from and build networks.
For us, the task was to find a way to keep this essential part of being an Acacia student. However we still wanted to utilise developments in educational technology. One of our longest serving tutors came up with the solution – taking the classroom online – and our “Live-Online” classes were born.
Live Online classes offer accessibility to professionals across the globe while still retaining the significant benefits of classroom learning. Groups are small and interactive. They involve collaborative exercises, action learning and case studies. Students can explore, debate and examine how best to develop their understanding and skills. This would be the same if they were sitting in any of our London centres.
Outside of class, our students have access to our extensive set of tailored resources. These are are being revamped by experts for the launch of our new Student Hub in 2019. We are more flexible and offer a wider range of study options than many other providers, we want to remain competitive in every aspect of our work.
"I am delighted every time one of our students completes the journey from the practical entry-level qualification to the highest strategic-level courses available and subsequently becomes able to implement meaningful change at the top level of any organisation."
Julie Cook, Director of Acacia Learning
